Loose leather?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I understand this will be typical wear and tear eventually and that some of these cars have had reviewers and gawkers climbing in and out of them at rates higher than any consumer car would ever experience. Yet I'm a little concerned, because still, these cars are presumably pretty low mileage and newly removed from a production line somewhere. I wonder how it will look in 2-3 years? Can anyone who has seen the cars in person shed light on this? If you did notice it, what kind of mileage did the cars have? Anyone else notice it in pictures? For example, this 228 w/ coral red leather, upper passenger seat back where the right shoulder would sit: And here, while the left butt bolster wrinkle isn't too bad, the upper left side seat bolster appears to be stuffed with marbles: Again, I admit this post is nitpicking, and I don't think these are the most egregious examples. But it's not about now, it's about later, and I think it's a fair question- how long until the interior makes this car feel more dated than it should with leather sagging and wrinkles? I think you are looking at shadows. Not one reviewer has mentioned this probably because it doesn't exist.

Could be shadows. To me, from multiple angles, it looked like ripples in the leather on the upper passenger seat back where the right shoulder would sit. Either way, I think it's a valid question: has anyone had a chance to sit in the car? How did it feel compared to the 1 series, and what are your impressions on how the seats will hold up? |

By the look of it, the 2 series seats look a little firmer/less plush than the 1 series seats, which is a good sign. We shall see I guess. |

I am not expecting the world from the seats - the Dakota leather in my E82 is nothing special. I think I would actually prefer the leatherette, but you can't do that and get the dimming mirrors (requires premium, and leather is part of that).

Agree it seems to look loose on a lot of the F32/32 cars too. The side bolsters I can sort of understand on the seat backs are these pheumatically inflate/deflate. Treads on here talk about a hot iron over a cotton tea towel solving...but you shouldn't have to really!
