It took forever but I finally got past my break-in period and got to test out the amazingly fun launch control

Are you sure your doing it right? Does it show a race flag when our doing it? Im pretty sure you should not be spinning wheels before the brakes come off. You will get some wheel spin but you should already be moving when that happens. If one of the many parameters are incorrect for doing launch control something like this could easily happen.

yea i get the flag and the rpms hold where they are supposed to, you can also see the suspension pre-load which i dont think would happen if it wasnt active.

Well if you break boosted it would do that too until the wheels started to spin. That looks like a classic burnout like with the break held until you let go... strange. I know on my 135i as well as in that video, there is no wheel spin until the breaks are off.

The manual has launch control, it's called your left foot.

I've done it a few times and there usually isnt. In fact, theres usually no spin at all. But a couple of times I've gotten this same result...maybe I was doing something different without realizing haha. Either way, I love the tire spinning

Good point, and precisely why I highly suspect launch control is not a good idea (not good for the car). Besides which, who has time to figure out all of this techno stuff, when all u need to do is step on the gas and go.

The car magazine testers are showing better 0-60 without the use of the launch control feature, as much as .4 seconds quicker. Put it into Sport + on dry pavement after the tires are warmed up and floor it, and you will get around 4.4 seconds to 60.

I was hoping to use the interior camera to record that, but as you can see I aimed it so the steering wheel was directly in the way . Looks like I'll have to do some more tests
