2015 M235i passenger side tail light is getting water inside. I have found the joint bonding the back of the lens housing and the outer housing has come apart at the seam where it wraps around to the side of the car. I have tried several different adhesive but nothing has realy been effective. Has anyone had luck sealing this area. I know back in the mid 90s people in the honda forums were putting housings like this in a low temp oven to soften the glue/adhesive then taking them apart to modify the lights then sealing them up. However I am a bit gun shy to put a almost 400 dollar housing in an oven.

You might be better off trying to find a cheap LCI version taillight, I had the pre-lci taillights replaced 3 times under warranty and then tried the same idea after warranty ran out of resealing it but it always fogged or got water in it, I found the LCI lights for about 80 per a while ago and repining with the new connector is easy

Well the first attempt at sealing the lens failed. So I removed it again from the car this time it had a good 4 cups of water inside. Here is what I did. In an attempt to dry out the inner housing I used some compressed air that didn't work so next was a hair dryer on low heat setting. I did this back and forth through the bulb openings for about a minute. No real change in the moisture in the housing, the biggest change was the red outter lens came off giving me the ability to take apart the entire housing and hand dry everything. A few interesting finds you will never get the water out of these unless you take them apart there are to may layers of plastic and compartments. 2nd the parking light is 2 very small leds on a circuit board. There are 2 of these boards on either end of a reflective lens. Now onto the repair. I was able to clean all the corrosion from the led circuit boards with a very fine brass bristle pen and a electronics contact cleaner called Deoxit not cheap but worth its weight in gold. Don't use anything but a soft very clean lint free cloth to dry the lenses or you will scratch them severely. Everything has to be completely dry if its not once you seal it back up and the temperature/humidity changes you will get condensation. Once I was happy with everything being dry I prepared the outer housing using my wire pen I carefully went around the seam to remove the failed factory adhesive and wiped everything down with alcohol wipes until it was clean. To rebond the lens I used super 6000 glue it stays flexible bonds great and unlike a super glue will not off gas and discolor clear plastic
