M235i continues to impress
Last track day of the year went well.
The day started at the 1/4 mile track. This is the second time I've ever been at a quarter mile track. Car is '15 RWD 8AT + VRSF I/c, c/p, downpipe, M4 LCAs, and Falken Azenis tires. 60: 1.925 1/8: 8.103 1/4: 12.588 ET: 109.17 Afternoon session was an auto-x time trial in Anaheim. Out of 120 cars that registered a time, I came in 20th. And fastest overall for all the cars that ran only four times. I think 41.4 was achievable and would of tied me with the highest seeded BMW. 3.5 yrs later I'm still having a great time with this car. I think I'll hold of getting an M2 for a bit longer |

i dropped psi to 28 on the rears. I think some guys in the 3forums got into the 1.8s on the 60foot. so still room for improvement |

Congrats and what a beautiful 235, do you have more pictures of it?
I’m considering trading my ecoboost mustang for a 2014 235 with 23k km as it’s a great spec and Manual. As I’ll be tracking my car as much as I can, any concerns on reliability/should I look for a newer model with factory warranty? |

I just ran 12.6s @ 111mph. DA was like -1500ft lol
I'm on winter tires and my car is A8 RWD. I did S mode with DSC completely off. I brake boosted to about 2k then stomped on it. Spun through 2nd gear (25 degrees out) so 60ft was a crappy 2 sec. Bone stock other than flash tune. I know lots of people like the launch control but for my car it was terrible. It felt like it was pulling a lot of timing or something and even the 1st-2nd shift felt slow. I tried several times. Also, it's hard to get launch control going. I'd either plow the front tires and the car would start moving or the rears would start spinning. It was hard to hit the sweet spot where it activates but I don't drag the fronts or spin the rears. Either way, turning DSC off was the best |

In terms of wondering if the 2er is a reliable track car... i would say there are no reliable road cars as track cars. Road cars are not meant to handle the extreme conditions of racing consistently and the m235i is no exception. The m235 is a fun, sporty car for sure but here is what it lacks: robust suspension parts, no oil cooler, limited wheel well space, no LSD, soft suspension, has a narrow track, and the chassis isn't not too stiff. that's why the M cars are better suited for tracking- but you pay a lot more. and still they are vulnerable to breaking down. I've never tracked a Mustang so i don't know it's strengths and weaknesses, but they look like fun, reliable cars. Unless you're not having fun and it will not be a financial burden to trade cars, then I'd switch. otherwise save your money, enjoy your mustang, and learn how to drive. hope that helps |

Also, I did baseline dyno and will get it dyno'd (already scheduled for Monday) to see what the stage 1 hex alone did. i think the peak numbers won't look as impressive as what the area under the curve provides in the butt dyno. the car is a whole new beast |

I have the fabspeed downpipe. it definitely adds power, some throttle response and compensates the increased lag from the jb+. it also added a lot nice sound. I think that's something that was lacking even with the mpe |
