Did I mess up my tire sizes?
Bought some michelin ps4s a couple of weeks back in 225 front and 245 rear as that seems to be the recommended sizes for xdrive. However when I pulled off the wheels today, all 4 had 18x7.5 on them (style 719m). So a couple of questions:
1. Does this mean that the only 2 series wheel with the 7.5 inch front and 8 inch rear is the 436m wheel, because the 719m seems to only come in a 7.5 square 2. The 245 rear tires fit but is this safe? I've heard that 235 width is the max for a 7.5 wheel |

To answer the "safe" question, look in your manual for the rim width. It might be a 7.5/8. If it is an 8, 245 is the maximum width. I would recommend having the same size tire on an all wheel drive so they wear evenly. After all, all the wheels are getting power, not just the back two. |

I see, this explains a lot. My car was an inventory vehicle and came on all-season pirellis with a 225 square. Guess I should have paid more attention to the rim and tire spec on the order sheet.

If you can switch the backs now for no cost, you might want to consider it. If not, then the turning dynamics will be a hair off for a few 10's of thousands of miles. |
