M240i (F23) MPE Question
Anybody have any luck with the MPE on a F23 M240i? Had my dealer order the MPE...they got it on the lift and found it won't fit. Said the BMW part number is wrong for the F23 240 and BMW won't have one for a couple months.
Anybody able to find / install a MPE on a 2017 F23 M240i? Thanks! |

Fitment issues with alignment as well as the stock diffuser for the convertible. Dealer told me they have a part number for MPE in Europe but they will not be available here in the U.S. for a couple months. Seems odd...

I talked to Brian from Sun Motors BMW (great seller btw) and they don't have clear information from BMW about the M Performance Exhaust for the M240i.
Apparently, the part number of the 235 exhaust it's different. In the shopbmwusa.com page they're offering the "M Performance Exhaust" of the M235i as compatible with M240i but they're also offering a "M Performance Silencer". Brian told me it's better to wait until BMW clarify all this "exhaust gate". |

Alex,
M235i MPE will fit on M240i and you get to keep the valve in LHS pipe whereas with M240i there are no valves. I'd personally spend the money on a midpipe bypass either Dinan or AWE - takes out larger resonator and silencer of the stock midpipe. Stealthy upgrade that gives the car more "voice" BP

Wow, it's really different ! Even the installation clamp it's different (smaller) ! I don't see the electronically controlled valve like the 235 MPE.... |

The clamp is different because the OEM pipe fits INTO the M performance pipe. The 235 butts up to the existing pipe.

Looking forward to seeing their reply. The one on the US BMW site is wrong. My dealer ordered it in and it doesn't mate up. And after further reading on the BMW site it still says for M235i.
