Hood crease line choice? Aftermarket?
Hey fellow BMW peeps.
I have been looking at the new 2 series for a while. My next car was up in the air between the new 2 series and new A3 sedan coming soon. I've been in BMW's since 2001. Z3, e90 325xi, and the e46 325ci. I was wondering what is up with BMW's choice of hood line placement on the current cars. It seems to destroy the flow of the design lines in general. I made a cheapy photoshop fix putting the hoodline down where I think it should be. Just above the kidney grills. The old z3 and 3 series had the kidney's integrated into the hood and it made the overall look much cleaner. New 4 series puts this strange hoodline right across the top as well. Feels sloppy like a bad design choice on an otherwise nice drawing. |

Yeah it looks unappealing initially, but once you have the car you get so used to it that you start to forget about it hehe

Ok, but, I wonder, does the safety regulation mean one can't make an aftermarket hood/bumper that fixes this like I pShopped? It would be really easy.

"Man this car is so amazing but this really insignificant detail is causing me to look at a completely different car in a different segment with a different style powertrain."
Really? |
