F46 Steering wheel - missing lin slave

Hi.

I've just had my steering wheel reupholstered and when I mount it back the multifunction buttons don't work. The only thing which works are paddle shifters.

Bimmerlink shows one error `MFL: missing LIN slave` code 030410. Erasing it doesn't help.

I thought that maybe a wire is broken. Does anyone have a pinout or some schematics?

I checked pins under the airbag and they all have some voltage, so I assume the steering column is fine and the problem is in the wheel itself.

brown-orange - 12v - airbag?
white - 5V and decreasing when paddle shifters are pressed
black - 0V - gnd?
red - 12V - is that regular 12V?
blue - 12V - Is this the data bus to the slave unit?

The fat black/red pair is probably the hand sensor. Red has 12V.

The three pin connector which goes to airbag has 12V on the red&blue, so up to this point the blue wire works fine.

Any advice what else to check before getting a new steering wheel ?

Thank you.

What a stupid mistake, the three pin connector was not for airbag, but should have been pushed to the multifunction buttons. The upholster guy disconnected it and forgot to connect it back. The error is gone now.
