17s are the way to go if you want more sidewall. The issue will be that they'll look small. The 2 series has a way of making 18s look small. The key is getting rims that pull the spokes to the outside rim edge. My Alutec Drives do this and it makes them look nearly like 19s and much larger than the stock 18s.

Lastly, tire design is key. Summer tires are a must has they'll have a blockier, more squared off shoulder. All season and less aggressive tires have a more rounded shoulder and it really can dumb down the look.
I really like your wheels and may end up with some. The only thing holding me back on the Alutec is there is no weight savings, and they are not currently available.

Good comparison. This make me understand I really like the look of the 18's over the 17's. I just need to decide if I want to take the gamble of needed to roll the fenders and deal with possible inner fender rubbing or not.
