Perhaps. But with Audi and MB both now selling cars under the 30k mark I feel like from a business perspective BMW will want to match that and their way of doing that is to transition to a cheaper, FWD platform. Or they could as you say, make it cheaper for them and keep price the same $3k higher than their main competition
