I had 18" wheels with a 45 sidewall spec on my rx8 for 6 years and never had an issue. I still think the $ for the deductible and insurance isn't worth it.

Yeah 245/35/18 which come on the M235i. Didn't really feel that bad in the car when it happened honestly, I've got a bad back and it didn't bother it. Was going only about 15-20 mph and there was a metal plate over the road for construction and it must have just hit right. I did have 3 people in the car so that may have contributed to it.
