Used i3 is a cheap possibility. You don't want a stick for your commute, anyway, and a recent REX version would have ample range. They are so cheap when they get to be three-years-old (about 1/3 of original MSRP) and you can get them CPO. Batteries come with an 8-year warranty. Simply throw it away when done.
