In June 2019, 5 months after the warranty has expired, the DSC failed and took the 1 Series to the local BMW agent to get the car fixed. However the DSC failed again last week (after 3 years and after 10,000km).
I suspect that, in 2019 the agent did not replace the DSC unit as promised but poorly repaired it because
- when I asked them to give me the broken DSC unit, I was told that the service center returned the DSC unit to BMW to check why the DSC unit failed even though the car was outside the warranty period.
- After arguing with the service agent we agreed on a 1,500Euro repair bill which coincidentally is approximately the price of the Repair kit - 34526891616
Symptoms:
- Car comes to a complete stop when the break paddle is barely pressed
- It took about 7-10 seconds for the car to start rolling back uphill
- No ABS and DSC warning lights are illuminated on the instrument Cluster
Car
series: 1' F20
steering wheel is on the right
Engine: N47N
variation: Europe
date of production: 10/2013
So my question is, is the DSC hydraulic unit failure a common issue on the F20? or I was just unlucky?
All input is appreciated.
Thanks
