IIRC, when you spec out the cost per pound for weight savings on high end racing parts, it is often more than $100/pound, so losing 10 pounds easily isn't bad. The factories have made a fetish out of finding lightweight materials, so it is getting harder to just rip out a bunch of crap and take a whole lot of weight off. Also, many of the carbon fiber trim pieces actually weigh more than their plain-jane factory counterparts.
