FYI, coolant should never be evaporated under normal circumstance.
Cap is typically air tight up to 10~15 psig and even when the engine runs real hot in hot day, coolant pressure at the tank should not go over 15 psig.

If you need to fill up more than few times, then I would check with dealer before the warranty ends.

big tank is for main cooling circuit. (engine, turbo, oil cooler..etc). It is high temperature cooling circuit. (over 200 F)

Small tank is for low temperature cooling circuit which include intercooler and air conditioner condenser. (typically 10~20F above ambient temperature)

If it is big tank, you would suspect leak on the engine/turbo. (at least B58 is closed deck. so there is no leaking into cylinder. lol)
If it is small tank, it can be intercooler (which will be nightmare).

Again, BMW factory fill doesn't seems very reliable. so it is highly likely improper fill.
Just need to keep an eye on it.
I agree, dropping coolant levels just shouldn't happen. Don't let the stealer tell you anything different.
