If you switch between Sport mode and Standard mode on the highway at constant speed you can hear a low pitched drone sound in Sport mode that becomes diminished in Standard mode. The drone sound comes from the ASD through your speakers and I found it fatiguing on long drives. The ASD removes the drone so then I could always drive in Sport mode.
