I asked about the black trim when I ordered my '18 230i. I was told it can be done 3 ways:
(1) order the M-sport package to which that trim is exclusive, or
(2) the dealer could order the trim pieces and swap them out after the fact, and I pay parts and labor, or
(3) seek an aftermarket solution on my own, e.g. vinyl wrapped by a 3rd party
I've been looking into some stuff called Super Wrap that seems like it'll do the trick, but I'm going to wait til I'm ready to upgrade to black rims and practice on some stuff other than my car first.
Or maybe when I upgrade my wheels I'll go with the polished aluminum look and just leave the trim shiny. Haven't decided yet.
