No I sent him my core. It's not hard at all the nut is a little tough to loosen its on really tight. Otherwise it's just a lot of routing wires in the spaces they're meant to go and plugging them in.
That said if you get yourself in trouble trying to re-wire the whole thing you could take the mess to your dealer and have them fix it up for you in about 15 minutes.
