Btw, I'm receiving notifications of sms, but it looks like the sms are not being synchronized at all, because I can't see any sms within the SMS menu. Is that normal?

I'm don't understand what you mean. You should get a notification of the text message and then be able to see the message and/or have it read to you. To respond, you would just hold your voice button for a few seconds to initiate Siri and ask her to respond the that message. You can then dictate what you want to say, Siri will ask if you are ready to send. After that the text disappears. There is no thread created.
