I hear you - it all boils down to personal preference in the end since its very subjective. Most people simply haven't heard enough types of speakers to make a comparison as to what sounds like what, only a shop or audio hobbyist.
(And it depends on whether you are running off the factory amp, or an aftermarket amp)
(And of course it depends if you are using crossovers included with the speakers and not designed for your interior, or aftermarket crossovers/active crossovers that can be tweaked - because then the tune gets even more subjective)
"luckily" the 4"/100mm size with shallow depth leaves with you only a few options to choose from
Even fewer come in a BMW tri-ring mount.
If you try what's been tested you know you'll get a good sounding system since others did the leg work.
