The section width of a 245/40-17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is 9.8" and the measured rim width is 8.5", so I don't know that you'd have that wheel-wider-than-the-tire look.
A 255 Continental ExtremeContact Sport in 255/40-17 might look better with its 10.2" section width, though. I don't know if there are any 265s in 17" - the Rack doesn't show any in 30, 35, or 40 series.
I don't know if you noticed on that page, but Bimmreworld is doing that same forged race wheel in 17X8½ ET 40 for $390/ea. The 245 PS4S would fit that wheel as well.
