It's not only helping traction when one wheel is lifted or unsettled over a bump, it helps traction during any aggressive cornering where the outside tire has more weight transfer and more traction.

Having said that, you really do not need it unless you autocross and / or track your car regularly and are advanced enough to even notice the difference.

For street driving, the standard e-diff is more than sufficient
