Either disconnect battery for a minute or two, or lock car and wait a couple hours before trying to restore from back up again. Had this happen to me. Don't stress |
Disconnect negative on the battery and wait a few minutes? Then will the ASD ECU show up in bimmercode and allow me to restore from backup? Thanks so much for the reply! |

Car was locked for a few hours. Connected with bimmercode and the ecu showed up. went to restore from backup and got the message "Coding failed" again. Checked settings and it looked like it did indeed change back to defaults, but it sounds like it is completely off now.... odd |
Make sure that the engine is running and that's the restore point is clean
