OBD port on F22 2018 not connecting using ENET cable

Just thought I'd post a question here..

Just attempting to connect a laptop to the OBD port using an ENET cable but it doesn't look like it recognises a network connection between the laptop and car at all.

Windows 10, firewall/antivirus off, wifi off, ethernet connection in DHCP mode, engine running for a few minutes (ie not just ignition)...

Tried two different ENET cables and two different laptops, so I'm assuming it's at the car end of things.

I've read about 'diagnostic mode' (three quick presses of the start button) to 'enable' the OBD port, but not sure if that's either required or actually applicable to my 2018 218d model??

Any ideas wise ones?

TIA
