Echoing the statements about the leather already having a coating. It probably just needs a good cleaning to remove the oils and restore the matte finish. There are several products out there for that. I actually just received some Swissvax Leather Cleaner today that I purchased from Obsessed Garage. It's fairly expensive, but I trust the guy who sells it. He does a lot of testing and research, and I'm happy to pay the price when I know I'm getting a good product.
