I ordered some replacement LED blinker bulbs from Amazon and installed them tonight and so far so good. Instant on instead of the brightening and dimming of the incandescent bulbs. No noticeable led flicker or error codes.

They seem a bit brighter than stock, but not by much. See the driver's side bulb in the attached pics. The bulb itself looks pretty cool in the housing. I was able to get the driver's side perpendicular to the ground, but not quite there on the passenger side. Not a big deal since I typically approach the car on the driver's side. If that's going to bother you then you may want to consider something more cylindrical. Next up will be to swap the reflectors.
