I've decided that I'm going to keep the Torque app for awhile which meant finding a better location for my spare phone. I routed a USB cable from my armrest to the coin tray. Pulled the coin tray and now the phone rests underneath the HVAC controls. it looks a lot cleaner now.

In the pic you can see the charging cable on the left side of the phone. I may load up some music onto the phone too since it's connected to the aux USB port.
