Is the inner ceramic insulator nose chipped (right by the electrode) on plug #2? That plug looks like it took more abuse than the others, but none look really bad (but the main indicator for this can't show in your pics - how eroded are the electrode tips?).
FWIW, I got my plugs changed as the last act of free maintenance (about 38k miles) and the improvement (smoother idle) is quite apparent, so I do not think you were premature.
