I struggled with the same issue and ended up going with the
OBDLink MX Wi-Fi because it allowed me to use Wireless with iphone because of built in WPA2 with AES encryption
Personally I feel its a better/more secure option than bluetooth...ymmv
I was also looking at the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7" which isnt THAT much bigger than an iPhone 6/7
The Tab A 7 is 7.36 x 4.28 x 0.34 in
The iPhone 6 is 5.44 inx 2.64 in x 0.27 in
For ~100 bucks it might be worth the experiment
