Better than nothing, but not really "secure". Anyone who wanted to spend the time dealing with the entry code to access the data should be able to reverse engineer the software.

Realistically, the first level of security should be a hardware means of setting the adapter into broadcast mode, rather than having them open to anyone who tries. Hell, even a BT mouse has that.
