Yes pure gas does have more energy than ethanol so its more efficient. Im totally on the opposite of the spectrum. Im more of a performance oriented guy and more for protecting the motor. Because ethanol is harder to combust, it inherently has better anti knock properties and the DME can adjust timing higher to take advantage of that. So essentially you can push more power and performance from the motor safely and thats why i prefer ethanol blends.
