People take baseless opinions from "influencers" like Scotty Kilmer and just parrot it like fact. If you watch that guys YouTube videos you would think 9 out of every 10 BMWs sold explode immediately and anyone who has ever owned a BMW is now dead and broke.
I personally think most major market cars have similar reliability in the 5 year 70k mile range and greater longevity is mostly a case of proper maintenance and limited abuse.
