They said the engine was running too rich on start up and that the update would make it run more lean. Makes sense that this would cause less pops from the exhaust. They're keeping my car overnight as they're waiting to hear back from BMW that there won't be any issues with me declining the software update.

I'm getting my car serviced next week and now I'm nervous about this update. Does it only affect the exhaust or does it also change something else?
