Don't assume that the only issue is skin damage.
Several years ago, someone backed out of a parking spot and into the back bumper of my parked BMW 1-series. My wife and happened to be walking back to my car when we saw it happen. It was a low impact bump. There was no damage to the rear bumper - the paint was perfect where it had been backed into, but I noticed a slight outward bump in the area. I took the other drivers info and took the 1er to the BMW dealership for a check-out and apparently the rebar behind the bumper had been damaged and had to be replaced. Cost was over $900 (covered in cash by the other driver).
Have the dealer or a body shop check it out.
