I have recently started looking in to the 2 series as a replacement for my 2013 G37s coupe. I have had a 2002 e46, a 2009 e90 and 2009 e92 both of the 328 variety.
Lots of posts on here about 2er reliability but also a lot of specific posts about all the things you will probably have to fix on the 6 cyl turbo versions. Haven't seen a lot about the 4 cylinders except some kind of timing chain issue in 14 and possibly 15.
I would really like to know more about reliability of the older 228s as well. I am retiring in the next couple of years and will be driving less but don't want a money pit when my income goes down.
