All I did was put down the $1000 deposit on the car. Then my sales rep gave me the order number. On BMW.com, you have to click on the "Owners circle" link and then sign up for an account. It will ask for your order number. After you register, it will give you your vin number plus the status of where your car is at. It's just basically a flash presentation, but it does update itself every couple of days--they don't show pics of your actual car, but it's still pretty cool anyway.
