I put the Sonax Rim Shield on before going to the track and cleaned the wheels a week after I returned with Sonax Wheel Cleaner Plus using this moderately stiff brush: https://www.amazon.com/Carrand-92019...dp/B0009VIPYI/.

I'm very pleased with that combination, as it was by far the easiest job I've had cleaning these wheels. I got a couple of Sonax Wheel Rim Brushes and will try them out next time. They don't have any metal like the Carrand brush does, so they'll be less likely to scratch the wheels. Besides, my impression is that an aggressive brush isn't required when using the two Sonax products.

I've gone that route with a race car: quick spray of the cheapest cleaner followed by a hose and then leave them out to air-dry.

With a street car, I like a clean set before the first session. (Heck, the wheels still look new after cleaning them.) I clean the outside of the calipers, too - just basic vanity, I guess.
