I think the Hikvision software is probably OK if you just leave it to record 24/7 and not have to worry about motion detection. Since I do worry about motion detection, I don't use Hikvision software for that.
However, their client for the PC to just watch the cameras is very good, as is their app on the iPhone/iPad. I definitely use Hikvision for that.
