I used a standard interior trim pry tool which can be found all over the place like amazon and ebay. The stiffer the tool, the better so don't cheap out on the $2 tools because they will bend. I paid somewhere around $15 for a full set of heavier duty pry tools.

It's very simple, on a scale of 1-10 I'd say a 3. There might be youtube vids on the subject but once you start your pry, it's pretty obvious what you need to do. If I remember correctly, I started from the lower inside section and worked my way out and up.
