That's what I have on my 230i for winter use. I think that is the stock rim size for the 3 and 4-series cars, so you'll likely see more of that size available used. I just checked my winter rims, and they are 8Jx17 with 34 offset, and tires are 225/45 R17. What is actually molded into the inside of the BMW OEM rims is 8Jx17EH2+IS34. I guess that means a 34 offset?

As the previous poster noted, they do stick out a few mm more than the original 18" performance summer and tires and rims.

Be sure to check mount the rims to make sure they clear the brake rotors. Mine are very close with just a couple of mm clearance.
