I moved from a 2016 M235xi ragtop (which went to my son) to a 2018 M240xi ragtop a few weeks ago and I find the M240xi quieter than the M235xi. Dunno if that is because of a more subdued ASD or the B58 vs N55.
BTW, I thought my M235xi sounded better - more extended burbles during gear changes.
