Duh! I have done this earlier in the year, so I know how to update the iDrive. Heck, I successfully updated the NAV software and one of the first here to code their cars.
Appears my HU is too old for this update with a build date of 2/2014. Anyone with a build <= 2/2014 get a successful install.
