On a 218i I think that a good all-season would work pretty well, year-'round. There would be a minor inferiority vs the best summer in summer and the best winter in winter. If the alternative is a summer tyre that has to double for winter use as well, then there's a strong case for the all-seasons. If it was a 240i the situation would be different, as the summer/winter differences are much bigger.
