Point well taken. My question was whether there is any data to support the claim that a 2-series convertible with a manual transmission holds its value more than other 2-ers.
And since the numbers are so small, I would even accept a finding that 6-speed convertibles of all makes and models are overall a better investment than other configurations of the same makes and models.
I would restrict the scope to the USA, on the assumption that different cultures value these features differently.
For example, I suspect that convertible sales overall in Canada and other parts of the Frozen North are lower than in more temperate climes.
I am sure that someone somewhere has access to these figures.
