I have driven both cars and there is no difference other than the engine. The 240 feels faster as it has more torque and it pulls to redline, while the 235 dies once you approach redline.
The $20,000 price difference between a used 235 and a new 240 is not justifiable. If you are concerned about the health of your engine, get your engine oil tested by a lab.
