I experience the same thing every time I wash the car. If yours is doing this now it'd be interesting to know if hosing down your wheel resolves the issue temporarily like it does on mine. When I do this a ton of brake dust flows out. I usually hose it down until the water runs clear. For several days after that it drives without clicking.
Mine was clicking like a mad thing until I got it washed on Sunday. Now it's silent when moving forwards, although it still clicks a bit when backing up (e.g. off my driveway onto the road, hard right lock).

I should have left it alone, as it's booked into the dealer for service and to investigate this tomorrow... sigh...
