How are you getting 6mm closer to strut than factory with a 18x9et40 wheel? If it were same offset as stock (45mm), half of the additional 1.5" wheel/rim width is ~19mm towards the strut vs. stock, but then shaving 5mm will bring the wheel in ANOTHER 5mm towards the strut... so ~24mm or nearly a full inch inwards compared to stock wheel.

*edit* Oops nevermind... realized you were talking rear only and said you had 8" wide et40 up front.
