Exactly that.
You have to slowly guide the belt in nice and flat, or it folds back on itself and jams in the slot.
Or the foldover gets though the slot and it's stuck on the inside.
Then everything looks fine, but the clip's flipped and there's a twist in the belt.
You've got to brute force the fold out of the slot.
It's just a bad design.
