That is certainly the situation now. However, many of us with 235/240 convertibles are looking ahead. With the rumored next version of the 2 Series only being available as a coupe, our only viable BMW convertible options would be the Z4 40M or the new M440 or M4, expected to be released in the next year or two. My guess is the Z4 M40 will compete pretty closely with the future M440 convertible on price or possibly even be a bit cheaper. Of course the size and form factor between the two will be quite different. I'm only at 38K miles on my M235, so my next car is still several thousand miles and a few years away, but I am always thinking ahead.
