I grew up with 5.0 Mustangs back in the 80s. All manuals, and all modded. They were still fun to drive in the winter. Put studded tires all around and they are scary fast even on slippery roads, I have no doubt an M2 would be even more so.
Manual and RWD is the classic sports car definition. If you have not had one, now would be the time because with the (excessive IMO) push to BEVs their days are probably numbered. Good luck and have fun!
